Crisis for LGBTQ+ in Ukraine

We must support the LGBTQ+ community in Ukraine. While the common vernacular in the news today for describing what is happening in Ukraine is a crisis, what we are witnessing is a war, a war against democracy. Ukraine fought and earned the right to be an independent democratic country and an DCFTA member with the EU. While their laws on LGBTQ+ rights have lagged behind other democratic countries, the LGBTQ+ community has fought and gained a few rights over the last twenty years. Certainly what they have gained far exceed what violence and harassment is perpetrated against the LGBTQ+ community in Russia. US news reports that there are LGBTQ+ leaders in Ukraine on the Russian "kill list", a document listing those who will imprisoned or executed when they achieve their goal of occupying Ukraine.
